It’s been reported that Facebook is planning ‘large scale layoffs’ of thousands of workers this week following a hiring freeze and a 70% fall in share price. Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg is planning to lay off up to 12,000 underperforming workers after it’s parent company forecast a weak holiday quarter and significantly more costs next year wiping about $67 billion off Meta’s stock market.
Meanwhile, Twitter is now asking dozens of recently temnimated staff to come back to work on new products that Elon Musk wants for the platform. About half of Twitter’s employees were laid off last week in an effort to reduce overhead costs, but it has been revealed that many were fired by mistake and are in the process of being asked back.
Harry Styles has had to cancel three concert dates just hours before he was set to take the stage in Los Angeles. He revealed the news on Instagram and said the ongoing flu was the reason for the last-minute postponements. Towards the end of one of his shows last week he was starting to feel ill and has been in bed with the flu ever since.
