Mariah Carey is no longer being sued for copyright infringement over the song All I Want for Christmas is You, after a singer dropped his legal action. Andy Stone filed a lawsuit against Mariah earlier this year, claiming he co-wrote a song with the same name five years earlier. He was claiming at least $20m in damages, but has now dismissed the case.

 

Twitter has started to roll out the paid-for blue-tick verified status. In an update for Apple devices, Twitter said the feature would be open to users in certain countries who sign up to its Twitter Blue service for $8. The blue-tick was previously used as a sign that a profile is authentic. If initial trials of paid verification are successful, Twitter say it will be rolled out worldwide.

 

Handwritten lyrics to the Oasis song Wonderwall have just fetched 10 times it estimate at an auction. The page is believed to have been written sometime in the mid-2000s to help the band during rehearsals. Other items made available include a leather jacket worn by Slash from Guns N’ Roses during the music video for the song Paradise City and an autographed ticket for a Beatles concert.
