Zoom is looking to expand beyond just video. They are looking at ways to incorporate email and calendar tools as the company aims to centralise more work on Zoom’s platform, keeping users on the app throughout the day rather than just to take meetings.

 

Archaeologists in Italy say they have discovered more than 20 bronze statues created over 2,000 years ago, almost perfectly preserved in the mud of hot springs in Tuscany. Around 5,000 gold, silver and bronze coins have also been found during three years of excavations. One specialist has said it will shed new light on the period from around the 2nd century BC to the first century AD.

 

The parent company of Facebook and Instagram announced yesterday that 13% of its workforce is being laid off. The move comes as part of a wider shake-up of the business that aims to drastically cut costs. Founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg admitted his own plans for growth had been too optimistic and had faced calls to slash costs following two consecutive quarters of falling revenue.
