Disney have released the first full trailer for the new live-action version of “The Little Mermaid.” The clip shows Halle Bailey as Ariel, the mermaid who gives up her voice to trade her fins for legs. It also gives fans a good look at Melissa McCarthy as Ursula and Javier Bardem as King Triton. The Little Mermaid is due to be released at the end of May.

 

Dwayne Johnson has broken his silence on Henry Cavill’s exit as Superman from the DC movie franchise. He says that the situation is similar to a football team that is taken over by new management who decides to replace the coach and the quarterback. It’s expected movie director James Gunn will cast a new actor for the role of Superman, though the process has not yet officially started.

 

Are we about to see a return of vinyl records? According to new numbers they are now outselling CDs for the first time in 35 years following a surge in popularity for retro gadgets. Data shows that last year just over 41 million records were sold for a total of $1.2 billion, compared to 33 million CDs. Vinyl accounts for 71% of revenue made from physical music formats in 2022, marking their 16th consecutive year of growth.
