Producers for James Bond have said that Idris Elba is ‘part of the conversation’ to be the next 007 – as the search for Daniel Craig’s replacement continues. He remains one of the favourites to play Bond, but stated last year that he hadn’t been offered the role. Producers now say that Idris has had informal talks and he has been told there is a role for him, if he wants it.

 

Video games using AI technology that can diagnose, monitor and treat depression have been developed by scientists. When patients are playing the games, the software can analyse the voice, eye gaze and micro-expressions as well as behavioural measures like reaction times, memory and error rates. Through this, patterns of depression are picked up on, which then allows a diagnosis to be made quickly.

 


The next two Mission: Impossible movies have been delayed yet again due to the pandemic. The release of Mission: Impossible 7 have been moved from from September 2022 to July 2023. They have also announced a new date for the eighth movie. This was expected to be released in July 2023 but will now be released July 2024.
