Major airlines have warned that the deployment of a new 5G spectrum could cause “catastrophic disruption” for commercial and cargo flights in the US from today. The issue has been raised as there fears the new C-band airwaves could interfere with sensitive radar altimeters on certain aircraft. The airlines say that immediate intervention is needed to avoid significant operational disruption.
