James Cameron’s Avatar 2 continues to be a success at the worldwide box office. It is already set to cross the $2 billion mark globally. Already it has accumulated an estimated $1.8 billion at the worldwide box office and has now come close to Spider-Man: No Way Home’s $1.9 billion, which holds the record of being the biggest film in the post-pandemic era.
Will there be another Top Gun movie? Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of Top Gun: Maverick said ‘nobody works harder than Tom Cruise’ and has left the door open for another sequel after the success of the second movie. Maverick was nominated for a number of Critics Choice Awards, picking up an award for the Best Cinematography, beating Avatar: The Way of Water.
Kevin Spacey has picked up a lifetime achievement award in Italy, just days after appearing in court in the UK to deny allegations of assault. He received the award for contributing to the growth of cinema. During a speech prior to receiving his award, he denied withdrawing from public life. He is scheduled to go on trial in June on a dozen charges alleging he assaulted four people between 2001 and 2013.
