Box office takings for Avatar: The Way of Water are about to cross the $1 billion mark. James Cameron’s sequel has so far raked in $955 million at the global box office, making it the third highest-grossing movie of 2022.
Some of the iconic props from The Wizard of Oz have just been sold at auction for almost half a million dollars. The Hollywood Reporter say that the iconic Wizard of Oz hourglass prop sold for $495,000. The price tag reflects the popularity of The Wizard of Oz long after its release, as well as the importance it holds in film history.
If you are a fan of Harry Potter, you can now rent one of the properties used for filming in The Deathly Hallows: Part 1. De Vere House is in Suffolk, UK, and was built in the 1300s. It’s where Harry’s parents lived before their murder by Lord Voldemort, but in real life it is a bed-and-breakfast. The impressive property has another claim to fame: it was rented by William Shakespeare in the 1600s.
