The first Harry Potter movie is getting close to a box office milestone almost 20 years after its release. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone has been re-released overseas with 4K 3D restoration and made an estimated $13.6m in three days in China, which means it’s now just $2m from becoming only the second Potter installment to reach $1b at the box office.
Game Of Thrones actor Charles Dance has said he ‘would sign’ a petition to remake the controversial final series. The show came to an end last year and prompted fans to launch a campaign calling for creators to re-write the season in full. His comments come after one of his former co-stars said he ‘almost wanted’ to donate to a petition about remaking the show’s ending.
A restaurant in China has has had to apologise for its controversial policy of asking diners to weigh themselves before they enter the restaurant. It was a new ruling in response to a new national campaign against food waste. Customers were asked to stand on weighing scales and scan their data into an app that recommended food choices based on their weight. The restaurant said it was “deeply sorry” for its interpretation of the anti-waste campaign.
