Supreme Committee Issues New COVID-related Decisions Ahead of Eid

The Supreme Committee issued several new COVID-related decisions, ahead of the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday. The new decisions include:

  • Banning Eid prayers for unvaccinated worshippers, and for children under the age of 12. The committee called on everyone to continue to adhere to social distancing measures, like wearing face masks indoors, and avoiding handshakes and/or hugs.
  • Banning all public council meetings, gatherings, and mass celebrations for Eid.
  • Banning all public functions held in mosques, halls, councils, and other public places, including marriages, funerals, and meetings.
