Supreme Committee Announced Fine Exemptions in Several Areas

The Supreme Committee announced several decisions after studying the impact of COVID-19 on private sector establishments, in an effort to improve the businesses’ ability to adapt to the changes and help them to sustain themselves. Here’s what they announced:
- All establishments and companies who were fined for not renewing their commercial records and licenses will be exempted from their fines, provided that they renew the records and licenses during 2021.
- Employers will be allowed to renew expired licenses for workers who are outside Oman and to claim exemptions from fines that were issued between June 1,2020 to December 31, 2021.
- Exemption from fines for all licenses issued by government agencies for the activities that have expired or will expire from June 1, 2020 until December 31, 2021, provided that they renew the expired documents.
- Fines that were issued against renewal of non-Omani labour cards and associated fines for cards which expired or due to expire during the period 1 June 2020 to 31 December 2021, will be waived for those who have terminally left the Sultanate or for those who renew the cards.
- Small and medium enterprises (who are Riyada card holders) will be exempted from fees for renewing the card for all commercial activities that ended in 2021 and to reschedule loans without rescheduling fees. They will also be exempted from registration fees in the Isnad system of the Tender Board and usufruct land fees.
