#BREAKING: Souq Muttrah, hotel restaurants to reopen on Tuesday in Oman

International and tourist restaurants inside hotels will be allowed to operate starting from Tuesday [August 18, 2020] according to a new decision by Oman’s Supreme Committee for COVID-19.

However, shisha and alcoholic beverages in these restaurants will not be allowed to be served. Food courts at shopping malls will also remain closed.

Gyms and swimming pools inside hotels will also open for business starting from tomorrow, while Souq Muttrah, Oman’s most popular traditional market, will also finally reopen to visitors on Tuesday.

The announcement marks the fifth batch of businesses that are allowed to resume operations in adherence to COVID-19 safety precautions, among which the printing of newspapers and magazines will also be permitted to resume.

Other business which will be allowed to operate include:

— Some sport stadiums for training purposes only.

— Shops selling phone SIM cards.

— Interior car wash services.

— Tobacco shops.

— Camping equipment shops, including shops that tailor and fix tents.
