SC Announces New Restrictions Ahead of Ramadan, Banning Taraweeh Prayers for Unvaccinated

The Supreme Committee announced several new measures to prevent the spread of the virus during the month of Ramadan. The measures include:
- Restricting attendance for congressional prayers to vaccinated worshippers only. This includes the Taraweeh prayers, and it applies to everyone, including children below the age of 12.
- Banning mass charitable iftars, in mosques and other public venues such as tents and majalis.
- Wearing of masks and physical distancing in closed areas, such as at mosques.
- Ensuring that halls, conferences, exhibitions, and public activities continue to operate at a 70% capacity.
The committee also called on anyone who shows any respiratory symptoms, to avoid attending group prayers and gatherings of all kinds, and it reminded citizens and residents to get their booster dose, if they have completed six months from the date of their second dose.
