The ROP reported that at least six people have died as a result of the heavy rains that hit Oman over the weekend. Five of the deceased were from one family in Al Buraimi, and one was a man from Samayil. All of them passed away after their vehicles had drifted away into a wadi.
The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authorities have also received several calls to search for people who went missing during the rains and an official from the ROP called on people to avoid venturing into wadis, in order to keep themselves and their families safe.
