The Department of Criminal Investigation detained two Arab nationals, after they impersonated a girl on social media, and blackmailed a victim for large sums of money.
The ROP called on people to beware of such traps, by avoiding friendships with strangers on social media or sending any money when under threats or blackmail.
Officials also called on victims of harassment or blackmail to report the incident either to the Department of Criminal Investigation, or on the toll-free number 80077444.
