The ROP arrested 17 foreigners, after they caught them on board two smuggling boats off the coast of North Al Batinah, trying to enter the country illegally. Legal measures are being carried out against them.
In a separate incident, police in South Al Batinah arrested two expats, for participating with international drug gangs, to smuggle in narcotic substances, with the intention of trafficking, and they seized 23 kilograms of drugs from their possession. The two were also charged with trying to enter the country illegally, and legal measures are being carried out against them.
