Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation (MoHERI) and various academic institutions, has launched Phase 6 of the Eidaad programme. The initiative aims to strengthen ties between academia and industry by offering Omani students a one-year internship with leading companies across the Sultanate.

Since its start in 2020, Eidaad has graduated over 1,000 students. In this latest phase, over 400 students from higher education institutions will be placed in more than 40 companies. The programme focuses on equipping participants with technical, communication, behavioural, and transferable skills to prepare them for the evolving job market.

The agreement was signed at the Arab Open University, with Her Excellency Dr. Rahma Al Mahrooqi emphasizing its alignment with Oman Vision 2040. PDO leaders highlighted the programme’s role in developing national talent and supporting a knowledge-based economy.

Enhancements in this phase include a career mapping module and a competency development framework to help students make informed career decisions and meet modern workforce demands.
