Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has become the first company in Oman to receive the ISO 26000 certification for corporate social responsibility (CSR), a global standard recognizing socially responsible business practices. Over the past decade, PDO has invested over OMR 33 million in 474 CSR projects, benefiting education, health, environment, youth, female empowerment, and community development. This year, PDO completed 31 CSR projects worth $8.7 million and committed to 68 additional projects.

The achievement was announced at the CSR Summit in Muscat, where PDO won three awards for its strategic partnerships and charity work. Mohammed Al Ghareebi, PDO’s External Affairs Manager, highlighted the alignment of the company’s efforts with Oman Vision 2040 and UN Sustainable Development Goals. This milestone follows PDO’s history of CSR leadership, including becoming a UN Global Compact member 10 years ago.
