One person was killed, and five others were injured, after the tires of their vehicle burst, while they were on the Adam-Thumrait road.
The ROP said the victims were heading to Dhofar, adding that Police Aviation transferred the injured people to a hospital in Nizwa.
Officials from the ROP called on citizens, residents, and tourists who are heading to Dhofar to abide by traffic laws, speed limits, and pay attention for stray animals, and sands that may accumulate on some of the roads.
They also reminded people that there are special checkpoints and patrol teams on the roads leading up to the governorate, which can help those who require assistance, as well as an emergency number (9999) that can also be used to call for help.
