In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oman expressed its deep regret over the worsening relations between the Republic of Lebanon and a number of Arab countries.

The statement called for all countries involved, to exercise restraint and to engage in dialogue to avoid escalating the issue. The Sultanate urged the countries to reach an understanding in a manner that is based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.

The statement is referring to a row that started between Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and the UAE against the Republic of Lebanon, which saw the four Gulf nations expel the respective Lebanese ambassadors from their countries. This came following controversial comments from Lebanon’s Minister of Information, George Kordahi, over the Yemen war.
