Omani social media users are taking part in Vogue Magazine’s viral #VogueChallenge, where the magazine has asked its followers to recreate some of their most famous covers using local faces and themes.
In a statement about the challenge issued on the Vogue website, the publication said: “It all started with one of our latest digital campaigns where we created bespoke VogueArabia covers honoring many of Lebanon’s influential people in tandem with our June issue.”
“The campaign caught the attention of people from all around the Arab region, turning the #VogueChallenge into the hottest new online trend everyone can’t help but want to join,” the statement added.
Since the start of the challenge, more than 200,000 mock covers have been shared on Twitter, ranging from simple selfies to submissions taken by professional photographers.
The magazine said: “Seeing everyone put their own spin on a Vogue cover has been nothing short of gratifying. From selfies taken from within their rooms to portraits shot more professionally in an outdoor setting, social media users made use of everything they can, combined with their editing skills to piece together their best possible Vogue cover.”
