Omani picture snags 5th spot in international photography competition

A photographic submission by Omani photographer Hassan Al-Ghailani took home the honorary award, along with a fifth place spot at the 20th Biennial of Nature Photography, held in Russia.

As Oman Daily reports, Al-Ghailani also took home the gold medal under the same theme in the individual category with the photo — which is title ‘Al Alalan Tree’.

An entry by the Sultanate has won the honorary award and fifth place at the 20th Biennial of Nature Photography in Russia.

In a statement by the Sultanate’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the photo earned a place in the top five with a total of 155 points. The Biennial event is held every two years by member states of the International Federation of Photographic Art.
