Omani driver jailed for violating ‘Movement Ban’

The Primary Court in North Al Batinah on Wednesday (August 13) has ordered to jail an Omani citizen for violating the Ban on Movement rule which was implemented for two weeks across the Sultanate from the end of July until the end of Eid Al Aha holiday.

The citizen was also slapped a fine of OMR2,000 and his driving license was confiscated for six months.

According to local media, the man was found driving during curfew hours under the influence of alcohol. It was reported that he was speeding recklessly in a residential area where he was arrested.
