A large sea turtle that became trapped in an area of beach at Ras Al Jinz in South Ash Sharqiyah Governorate has been rescued and freed by Oman Environment Authority staff, the government body has announced.
The turtle, which had become lodged between a crack between the beach and the Ras Al Jinz mountains, was pulled to safety and released back to the sea.
In a statement issued online today [Thursday, August 27], the Environment Authority said that, “We do our best to protect the environment and the creatures that share our Earth.”
