A rare Arabian leopard was caught on camera in Dhofar Governorate on Friday [August 28], Oman’s Office of Conservation of the Environment announced in a series of photos through the Diwan of Royal Court.
Accompanying the images, a statement issued online by the office said: “An Arabian leopard enjoys the charm of nature and the picturesque ambiance of the Dhofar 2020 khareef season as a result of conservation and protection efforts.”
Known locally as ‘qadr’, the environment office states that these critically-endangered animals are active mostly at night due to the cooler temperatures, with their spotted markings varying from one leopard to another.
