Oman: Government clarifies eligibility for renewal fee reduction on expat visas

Oman’s Government Communications Centre (GC) has issued a statement in clarification of eligibility for reduction of renewal fees for expatriate residents’ visas, which were decreased from OMR 301 to OMR 201 in a decision issued on April 15, 2020.

In the statement shared online, the GC addressed enquiries raised by business-owners on social media, clarifying that the reduction in visa renewal fees for expatriate workforce for companies in the private sector applies to the following categories:

— “Institutions and companies with a national workforce, regardless of the number of Omanis.”

“Owners of SMEs as a full-time job who are registered with the Public Authority for Social Insurance as employers.”
