Oman Embassy: COVID-19 test necessary for travel via UAE to Australia, New Zealand

The Consulate General of Oman in Australia has issued a circular today [Wednesday, August 12] advising Omani students and citizens of the requirement of having a COVID-19 test prior to departure when traveling via the UAE.

In its statement, the Consulate General said that citizens from Oman seeking to travel to Australia and New Zealand via UAE airlines or, transit through UAE airports, must submit a test report indicating that the they are free from coronavirus before finalizing their travel proceedings.

As per the Consulate General, the test report should be conducted no less than 96 hours prior to departure. The requirement is currently in effect for all travelers, except for those with special needs and children younger than 12.
