His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued Royal directives, announcing a 3-day mourning period with flags at half-mast, starting from Friday, May 13th, until Sunday May 15th, over the passing of the UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The late Sheikh passed away Friday aged 73, and the UAE’s Ministry of Presidential Affairs announced a 40-day official mourning period, starting from today, for the next 40 days, with flags at half-mast.
The ministry also suspended work in the private sector, as well as in ministries, departments, federal and local institutions, starting from today, for a period of 3 days.
