Due to the adverse weather conditions that the country is witnessing, authorities have declared an official holiday on Monday for public and private sector employees, as well as for students. This decision applies to all governorates except Dhofar and Al Wusta.
Any workers whose job requires them to be on duty on Monday may be employed, but they will need to follow safety requirements, and employers will be asked to compensate them for this day.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that the peak of the impact is expected on Monday, adding that the main effects will be heavy thundershowers with downdraft fresh winds and hail.
The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has called on the public to be careful, and to avoid venturing into the sea and into wadis. They also called on drivers to be especially careful when driving near mountains, as falling rocks and landslides may be expected.
Moreover, the National Committee for Emergency Management (NCEM) has announced that it is fully prepared to deal with any emergency situations during this period.
