Muscat Taaif Centre, the main specialized facility in Oman for treating and rehabilitating individuals recovering from addiction, was officially opened today in Al Amerat under the patronage of Muscat’s Governor, Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi.
The project is part of PDO’s social investment initiatives, delivered in partnership with Al Jisr Foundation and the Ministry of Health, and aims to strengthen mental health services in line with Oman Vision 2040. PDO contributed OMR 2.5 million and oversaw the project through its Project Management Consultancy team.
The Centre offers integrated care through detox, rehabilitation, and aftercare, with 130 beds—96 for men and 34 for women. It also includes a detox unit, outpatient clinic, forensic medicine department, pharmacy, vocational workshops, physiotherapy facilities, a swimming pool, and a fitness centre.
PDO’s Eng. Mohammed Ali Al Aghbari said the Centre marks a major step forward in advancing mental and behavioral healthcare in Oman, supporting national goals while delivering meaningful social impact.
