Muscat Municipality announced that more areas in Muscat, will be included in the paid parking zone starting from March 6th, 2022, including the parking lots around the new Al Khoudh market behind the Ooredoo store, the car parks next to the Sultan Qaboos Street in South Al Khuwair and opposite the commercial buildings, and the parking area that surround the Sultan Mosque in Ruwi.
Officials said this was done due to the increase in the number of vehicles, and to eliminate the issue of abandoning cars in parking lots.
The ministry called on drivers to use the mobile parking reservation service, which they can do by sending an SMS to 90091, with the number and code of the vehicle, as well as the number of minutes required (minimum of 30 minutes and maximum of 300 minutes)
