MoH Reports Over 4,000 Coronavirus Cases Over the Weekend

The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 4,166 new Coronavirus cases, and three COVID-related deaths in a 24-hour period.

The ministry said that 48 patients were admitted to hospitals across the Sultanate in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of inpatients up to 168, including 18 people in Intensive Care Units.

In an interview with Oman TV, a doctor from the Ministry of Health, Dr Amal bint Saif al Maani, said that 99 percent of the COVID cases that are being registered in the Sultanate are of the Omicron variant, and she warned that the number of infections is expected to continue rising.
