MoH Releases Statement Regarding Fatal Medical Negligence Incident

The Ministry of Health (MoH) issued a statement online regarding the case of Omani citizen Muneera Al Maqbali, who died during a liposuction surgery at a private hospital in Muscat, saying that they are following up on the case with close interest.

The late Al Maqbali passed away due to medical negligence, and the MoH confirmed today, that the surgeon who performed the surgery was suspended for the time being, until investigations are completed.

Gulf Specialized Hospital, which is where the incident took place, also released a statement explaining the issue, saying that the doctor who performed the surgery was only renting an operating room at the hospital, but was not affiliated with them.
