Oman’s Ministry of Transport (MoT) will allow licensed taxi companies in the Sultanate to upgrade their fixed meters to “more modern and advanced systems.”
In a statement issued online, the MoT confirmed that the directive is in-line with its procedures to “regulate taxi services according to the guidelines and procedures stated in the Land Transport law and its executive regulations, as well as its ministerial aim for creating better services’ quality that adopts the latest global trends in employing emerging and modern technologies for a better client experience.”
The new upgraded meter systems would be utilized on smartphones and other smart devices.
