Ministerial Committee Meet to Discuss Ways to Restore Normalcy Following Cyclone Shaheen

The Ministerial Committee that was set up under the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, to assess and deal with the damage caused by Cyclone Shaheen, held its first meeting today.

The Committee is headed by the Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee at the Council of Ministers, Sultan Salim al Habsi.

During the meeting, the members mainly delegated the tasks and they made decisions with the aim of protecting lives and restoring normalcy in the fastest way possible.

The service sector was instructed to work in liaison with the relevant authorities to expedite the process of road maintenance, and the restoration of services. In terms of shelter and relief sector operations, it was decided that a number of centers would be tasked with collecting and distributing resources to affected families, in collaboration with Oman Charitable Organisation.
