MERA Announces Fines for Those Who Use Mosque Loudspeakers for Anything Other than the Call to Prayer

The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs issued a Ministerial Resolution, which states that the use of external loudspeakers in mosques and prayer halls will only be limited to raising the call to prayer. This means that the prayer will no longer be broadcast on the external loudspeakers.

Anyone who violates that rule will be fined not more than 1,000 OMR.
