Kuwait’s 91-year-old ruler Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber al-Sabah passed away today (Tuesday), the state news agency KUNA reported.
Born in 1929, Sabah served for nearly 40 years as a Foreign Minister and Prime Minister. He was widely popular leader both at home and abroad and known as a respected mediator and key player in regional politics.

He was sworn in on 29 January 2006 after confirmation by the National Assembly.
