threeThe King of the Belgians, King Philippe Leopold Louis Marie and his wife, Queen Mathilde, will arrive in Oman today, for a three-day visit.
Speaking to Merge FM’s sister station, Wisal FM, the Honorary Consul of Belgium, Reggy Vermeulen, called this visit historical, saying that it would be the first time that a Belgian king visits the Sultanate.
He said that over the past few years, the two nations began working on more joint projects, mainly around the port of Duqum, adding that they are looking to enhance collaborations in the fields of logistics, minerals, energy, recycling, and technology.
He added that the King will be accompanied by around 40 prominent Belgian businessmen, with the aim of investing in the country, as well as members from the Belgian press who aim to promote Oman as both a tourist, and investment destination.
