Announced this evening [Monday, July 6] ahead of a live interview with Undersecretary of Health Affairs at the Ministry of Health, H.E. Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Hosni, Oman TV stated that the infant was declared recovered from coronavirus in Jaalan Bani bu Hasan in South Ash Sharqiyah Governorate.

As per Oman TV, the child contracted the virus from his father who didn’t know he had caught it and was in contact with the infant who was just three days old at the time, causing him to come down with fever at five-days-old. At just eight-days-old, the child tested positive for COVID-19.

Speaking to Abdullah al Mashaikhi, a member of the child’s medical team, Oman TV confirmed that the infant is now fully-recovered, and the family — along with the father — have also recovered.
