HM the Sultan offers condolences to Pakistani President over plane crash near Karachi

His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik has offered his deepest condolences to Pakistani President, His Excellency Dr. Arif Alvi, and to the families of those who lost their lives in a plane crash which took place near Karachi on Friday [May 22].

As the BBC reports, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Flight PK8303, an Airbus A320 aircraft traveling from Lahore, came down in a residential area after one failed landing attempt at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport yesterday afternoon.

As per the BBC, the flight was carrying 91 passengers and eight crew members, with local health authorities in Pakistan confirming 97 fatalities. It is not yet clear as to the cause of the crash, which comes four days after the country allowed domestic passenger service to resume.
