His Majesty Sultan Orders Reduction in Issuance and Renewal Fees for Permits of Expat Workforce

The Ministry of Labour issued a statement, announcing new fees for issuing and renewing licences for recruitment of expat workforce. The statement came following a Royal Directive that was issued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, and the reduction in prices mainly aims to show support to companies that are committed to Omanization, and decrease the economic burden on private establishments.
The new fees apply to companies that have committed to the Omanization rate or have abided by it, and it will come into effect on June 1st, 2022. The fees are as follows:
For expat workforce (commercial)
- Category 1 fees were reduced from OMR 3001 to OMR 301 (OMR for those that have abided by the Omanization rate)
- Category 2 fees were reduced from OMR 601-1001 to OMR 251 (OMR 176 for those that have abided by the Omanization rate)
- Category 3 fees were reduced from OMR 301-361 to OMR 201 (OMR 141 for those that have abided by the Omanization rate)
For expat workforce (non-commercial)
- Domestic workers (from 1-3 workers): fees were reduced from OMR 141 to OMR 101
- Domestic workers (4 or more workers): fees were reduced from OMR 241 to OMR 141
- Farmers and animal breeders (from 1-3 workers): fees were reduced from OMR 201 to OMR 141
- Farmers and animal breeders (4 or more workers): fees were reduced from OMR 301 to OMR 241
For expat workforce in SMEs (holders of Riyada card)
- For 1 to 5 workers: fees were reduced to OMR 101
- From 6-10 workers: fees were reduced to OMR 151 (provided that the company has employed at least one Omani national)
