The Kuwaiti Attorney General has issued a decision to seize the funds of at least 10 popular social media influencers, and prevent them from traveling on suspicion of money laundering, according to local media.
Al-Qabas and Al-Akhbar newspapers reported that the prosecution’s decision came after a report by the Financial Investigation Unit against the celebrities, due to the inflation of their bank accounts, which raises the suspicion of money laundering.
Al-Qabas published the names of the 10 influencers.
Kuwait is ranked first in the Gulf in the number of accounts on social media platforms, according to previous statistics published by Al-Qabas newspaper.
