The Ministry of Health (MoH) announced that COVID-19 vaccinations in Oman will be provided to citizens and residents of all target segments free of charge.
The ministry said that the national Coronavirus vaccination campaign has been approved in two phases. The first phase plans to immunize 30% of the population by the end of August, while the second phase aims to vaccinate 40% by the end of the year, which means that by the end of 2021, 70% of Oman’s population will be vaccinated.
Several private sector companies from different sectors contributed to the Corona Fund, by paying for their employees to get vaccinated, as part of their social responsibility.
The ministry also explained how the price of the COVID-19 vaccine dose was determined. The cost of the vaccine itself, shipping charges, storage costs and logistical fees were all calculated based on the type of vaccine and the requirements of the manufacturing companies.
