Expat lawyers can’t plead in Oman courts as of next year

The Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs issued a statement to law firms, civil law firms and all concerned authorities in the Sultanate that non-Omani lawyers may not attend or plead before courts after December 31st.

The ministry said in its statement that it values the efforts made by non-Omani lawyers and the contributions and experiences they shared to excel law-related professions in the Sultanate.
