According to a consultant of infectious diseases at the Royal Hospital, Dr. Faryal Al Lawati, although rare, there have been a few cases of people testing positive for COVID-19 3 months after they first caught the virus.

Studies are still unclear on whether the positive PCR results reported were caused by coronavirus residue from the last infection, or if patients were reinfected with the virus again.
