Deer hunters in Oman receive six-month jail term

The criminal court in Muscat has convicted two people for killing a deer in Oman. The accused have been sentenced to six months in jail and have been slapped with a fine of OMR 1,000 each.

One of the detainees has also been charged for threatening a public employee, and will face a penalty of one month’s imprisonment and misdemeanor, in addition to possessing a firearm weapon without a license, which carries a fine of OMR 500 in addition to OMR 300 for owning a firearm scope.

The weapons and the vehicle used for the crime have been confiscated.
