COVID-19: Which age groups have been affected the most in Oman?

Most COVID-19 fatalities in Oman have been among people in their 60s, according to recent statistics released by the Ministry of Health (MoH).

Out of a total of 273 COVID-19 deaths in the Sultanate (recorded until July 14), 140 are Omanis and 133 are non-Omani residents.

However, 69 deaths were recorded for people between the ages of 60 and 69, most of them Omanis.

The highest death rates among expats has been between the 40 and 49 age bracket, with 41 non-Omani residents in this age group succumbing to the virus.

No deaths have been recorded thus far for people below the age of 20. However, five expat patients in their twenties passed away from the COVID-19 virus, compared to zero Omanis in this age bracket.
