COVID-19: Three repatriation flights to India depart from Muscat, Salalah today

Another three repatriation flights from Oman to India got underway today [Wednesday, May 20] as part of the republic’s ongoing ‘Vande Bharat’ mission to repatriate its nationals stranded abroad, now in its second phase of operations.

In statements issued online today, the Indian Embassy in Oman has shared scenes from Muscat International Airport where two Air India Express flights carrying passengers to Bangalore and Kannur will depart, along with another from Salalah International Airport bound for Calicut.

The complete flight schedule for Phase 2 of ‘Vande Bharat’ repatriation flights from Oman is as follows:

May 17: Muscat – Trivandrum
May 18: Muscat – Hyderabad
May 20: Muscat – Kannur
May 20: Muscat – Bangalore
May 20: Salalah – Calicut
May 21: Muscat – Calicut
May 21: Muscat – Delhi
May 22: Muscat – Kannur
May 23: Muscat – Kochi
May 23: Muscat – Gaya
May 23: Muscat – Trivandrum

The Indian Embassy has confirmed that passenger lists for all new and scheduled repatriation flights will be finalized by the Embassy, and those short-listed to fly will be contacted directly by their representatives.

Travelers will be prioritized among those with medical emergencies, pregnant women and the elderly, workers in distress, and “other Indian nationals who are stranded in difficult situations.”
