In a message to the nation’s healthcare workers, Oman’s Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al Saeedi, has praised the efforts of frontline health staff while calling upon the support of additional health workers amid plans to resume more services.
In a statement issued online today [Tuesday, June 9], His Excellency the Minister of Health said: “We are, currently, planning the feasibility of resuming our services while taking precautions to ensure the safety of the healthcare workers, patients, and community at large. I urge each of you to contribute to this planning effort.
With the increasing incidence of COVID-19 infections, we have seen the demand for critical care services increase too. Thus, to meet this increasing demand, the critical care units have been training more staff and arranging the essential requirements. Furthermore, some of you might be called to join and support your colleagues in the front-line teams.”
His Excellency also noted the need for the public and the society to learn to live with and manage COVID-19 as cases worldwide continue to increase.
He also conveyed a message from His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, who presided over the last meeting of the Supreme Committee for COVID-19 stating that: “His Majesty praised all your efforts, and acknowledged your sacrifices and dedication.”
