COVID-19: Oman registers 1,389 new cases Tuesday, total now 59,568

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,389 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.

In a statement issued online today [Tuesday, July 14], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 59,568, while 730 new recoveries bring the total number of patients in the country who are now virus-free to 37,987.

Of the new cases announced today, 1,050 are among Omani citizens and 339 are among non-Omani residents. 

The MoH has also confirmed its highest number of COVID-19 fatalities to date, with 14 deaths today bringing total casualties in the Sultanate to 273, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman stands at 514, with 149 in ICU.

As of today, a total of 4,044 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the Sultanate in the last 24 hours.
